Aer Lingus/Ryanair on Bologna-Dublin by summer 2009

Aer Lingus and Ryanair will operate in clash on Bologna-Dublin by summer season 2009.
Uploading the new summer services, Aer Lingus confirms three times a week the seasonal Bologna-Dublin. Ryanair will begin to fly on the leg by Oct 27 twice a week and in summer they'll increase until 4xweek.
Aer Lingus (Ryanair owns 31% of shares) will work on tuesday, thursday and saturday. Ryanair will fly in the remaining days.

MyAir have closed Brindisi and Catania

MyAir continues to give up services from Bologna. They has recently cutted two domestic routes to Southern Italy: Brindisi (by Sept 26) and Catania (Sept 30).
Operated three times a week flights to Brindisi were commened in June 2005. Catania is a route resumed in last March and operated daily. The decison to drop these services is connected to a network reduction and not by the load factor again positive until now.

Neos owns Cancun service in winter

Neos will have in the hands the weekly service to Cancun operated on behalf for Alpitour and Francorosso.
Its a weekly service operated on thursdays with B767/300ERs.

SAB ends with Forlì airport

The divorce now is consumed. SAB - Bologna airport managing company have left stake participation in SEAF - Forlì airport company. After eyars where SEAF have lose a lot of money with financial year closed with huge highest losses. SAB have not participate into the support for cover losses matured in FY 2007 for more than 3,7 million €.
The local scene is full of attacks especially coming from Forlì local authorites against Bologna for its refuse to cover losses due to they has owned a 17% batch of shares in the company.

By Oct 2008, regular flights to Naples are back to three times a day.
They have resumed the evening rotation operated with 90 seater CRJ900s.

AirOne publish winter timetable

No updates or new additions in AirOne winter timetable effective by Oct 26 2008.
They has published the timetable despite AirOne will merge into CAI-Compagnia Aerea Italiana when process to obtain AOC is terminated.
AirOne will offer direct services to:
Alghero, daily with 90 seater CRJ900s,
Bari, daily with 90 seater CRJ900s,
Lamezia Terme, daily with 159 seater A320s,
Naples, 19 flight a week with 90 seater CRJ900s.
Services to Athens are via Naples and available from Bologna to Athens on monday, wednesday, friday only. Northward from Athens to Bologna are available on monday, wednesday, friday and sunday.

Two more routes for Wizzair

Wizzair have look very well to the market with origin from this Northern East gateway with catchment area that overlook Tuscany and Marche. They'll add in 2009 two more routes servicing Bucuresti Baneasa and Cluj Napoca.

Alitalia drops flight at 9am to Rome

On the way of current company policy to reduce and cut services, reduce frequencies or change flight equipments. Alitalia with effect Oct 6 2008 it will drops the daily service to Rome scheduled at 9am from monday to saturdays and operated by EMB170s.
They continue to fly Rome with four daily flights operated by Boeing MD82s.
